If you’re planning to move out of your rental home, we’re here to help make the process as smooth as possible. Providing proper notice allows our team to coordinate your move-out, schedule inspections, prepare the home for the next resident, and help ensure your security deposit is processed as quickly as possible.
Please review the information below before submitting your notice to ensure you understand your responsibilities under your lease agreement.
When to Submit Your Notice
Most lease agreements require written notice before moving out. The required notice period depends on your lease agreement and applicable California law.
We encourage you to submit your notice as soon as you know you’ll be moving. Providing early notice helps avoid misunderstandings and gives everyone more time to prepare for a smooth transition.
Please continue paying rent and complying with all lease obligations until your tenancy officially ends.

- Property address
- Resident names
- Forwarding address (if available)
- Phone number and email
- Desired move-out date

Providing complete information helps us process your notice more efficiently.

- Review your lease requirements
- Contact you if additional information is needed
- Schedule any required pre-move-out inspection (when applicable)
- Provide move-out instructions

We’ll also explain the next steps regarding your final account and security deposit.
Preparing for Move-Out
Before returning possession of the property, residents should:
- Remove all personal belongings
- Dispose of all trash
- Complete any resident-responsible cleaning
- Return all keys, remotes, garage door openers, and access devices
- Leave the property in accordance with the lease agreement
Additional move-out instructions may be provided after your notice has been received.
Security Deposit Information
Security deposits are processed after the property has been completely vacated and a final move-out inspection has been completed. Any applicable deductions permitted by your lease agreement and California law will be itemized and provided as part of the security deposit accounting.
Providing a forwarding address will help ensure your final documents and any remaining security deposit are sent to the correct location.
